The daughter of a doctor, Wilma was raised by the seaside near Brighton, England, and was bitten early by the travel bug. Her family made several trips throughout Britain and Europe as she was growing up. After completing her education, it was only natural that Wilma would continue to explore the world during her holidays from work. When she fell in love with a French Canadian, she considered the move across the globe as yet another exciting adventure.

When she arrived in Canada, she embarked on a long and successful career as an independent professional recruiter and corporate headhunter. Wilma worked with corporations as varied as Coca Cola and SCO Software as well as law, engineering and high tech firms. She specialized in training, sales and marketing, and earned a strong reputation for her exceptional ability to negotiate contracts. “Each assignment was an adventure,” she remembers, “but as much as I enjoyed helping these companies find the right people, I enjoyed helping those people find the perfect job even more.”
